Basic valuation
60¢ per pound, per item
When basic valuation applies, the item’s weight sets the liability limit—not its purchase price or replacement cost. Review the written selection on your estimate.

Your belongings matter. Before moving day, let’s make sure the protection on your estimate matches what you expect.

Coverage starts with your written selection.
First, a useful distinction
Valuation is the level of responsibility a mover accepts for belongings lost or damaged during the move. An insurance policy is a separate agreement with its own coverage, exclusions and claim process. Your estimate and moving documents identify what applies to your move.
A quick example
A TV might cost $800 but weigh only 20 pounds. At the basic 60¢ rate, the weight-based limit for that item would be $12.
This illustrates basic valuation only. It is not a claim decision or an example of additional coverage.
Before the first box is loaded
Keep your estimate and coverage details together. Ask us to resend anything you cannot find.
Take clear photos or video, including electronics operating before the move. Tell us about fragile or high-value pieces in advance.
Ask about special handling, packing requirements, deductibles and exclusions before choosing an option.
Interstate moves have different rules. Full Value Protection applies unless you properly select Released Value in writing. Review the options and election documents for your specific interstate shipment.
